This is Part Two video of two parts covering the tropo opening into Texas that happened on 13 Dec 2009.
Stations were working paths up to 700 miles from South Texas to Iowa.
Several stations were making contacts on 2m thur 10 GHz.
Ten watts and a good antenna system was enough to work 500 miles.
Jay - W5IB was stronger on 432 MHz than on 2m.
Ron - K5LLL was almost 20 over 9 at 650 miles.

VIDEO Demonstration of classic Amateur Radio SSTV, using 8 second black and white format.
This is the format that was popular in the 1970s prior to the advent of the various color SSTV modes in use today.
This simulation was created using some Linux-based software I wrote.
The sound is music to a slow-scanner's ears.

HOME MADE 13 METER DISH FOR EME - VIDEO

N0IRS
This is a video shot on 1 Jan 2010 of Pete's Station in Central Kansas.
The highlight is the massive 28 foot 1.2 GHz Dish mounted on the Navy Gunturrent.
The echo demonstration off the moon, both on CW and Voice was amazing.
Can't wait to see what Pete puts up on the other new towers he installed on the site this fall.

K7AGE
Operating my station remotely. I use three pieces of software.
First is TRX-Manager to control the radio. See my video on TRX-Manager. (NEXT VIDEO BELOW)
Second, remote desktop software. This allows me to control the radio computer from a remote computer.
I use Logmein.com free program to manage and setup the connection between the two computers.
Third, Skype to connect the audio. I have RigBlast er Pro to interface the computer to the radio.
I really like the remote desktop, as I can run RTTY and PSK software on the
radio computer that has the audio connection to the TS-2000.
When operating in these modes, Skype is only providing audio for monitoring functions.
It all works very well and provides my radio connection when I am away from home.
I also have AC power switch so that I turn on the radio PC
when needed so that I don't need to leave it running all the time.
